Evil Never Dies (Lizzy Gardner Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 14,309 ratings

Lizzy Gardner is a one-million copy bestselling series.

Private investigator Lizzy Gardner believed in law and order once. But after losing a loved one to a killer and watching too many vicious predators game the system and walk free, she’s traded flawed justice for perfect vengeance.

Together with her tough and trusted assistants, Lizzy is tracking down a list of Sacramento’s worst offenders and dealing out the payback they deserve. But she may be lethally outmatched by a new criminal, a murderer the papers have dubbed the Sacramento Strangler. This ritualistic serial killer is dropping corpses and cryptic clues at a shocking rate—and he’s growing bolder and bloodier the longer he’s at large.

In the suspenseful finale to the Lizzy Gardner series, bestselling author T.R. Ragan’s gutsy heroine lashes out against the relentless onslaught of evil as she desperately fights to hang on to her own humanity.

Wow—one of the best investgator type series I’ve read! Got attached and found myself rooting for all the main characters (lizzy-Jared-Jessica-Haile-Tommy) but was sad when one of them died. Loved how the girls got the “bad” evil killers, rapist, & perverts back!! Yeah some lines were crossed, but rooting for them felt justified!! Highly recommend this series and other books by this author which are well written, entertaining, and will have you reading through the night!

Loved the Lizzy Gardner series! Sad it cane to an end. Books you can't put down. Highly recommend this series and Ms Ragan's other books.

For the final novel of her six-book series, author T.R. Ragan gives her hero Lizzy Gardner perhaps the toughest case of her career. She's determined to put a successful businessman, who preys on young women with few financial resources, behind bars. At some point, Lizzy decided to cross into the gray area of getting her suspect. But she's still way behind her assistants Hayley and Kitally. They are not above planting evidence to keeping a dirtbag from committing more crimes. And most of these crimes are directed at women. It's almost as if Ragan tapped early into the #metoo movement. These women have felt the effects of predatory harassment and crimes against their gender. But they're tired of being victims. They want a say in how they face their recovery. And recovery in this case involves eliminating the threat, preventing what happened to them being repeated on other women or girls. They don't get a lot of help from law enforcement, primarily because of who they are. Cops don't like interference and like vigilantes even less. Ragan wraps up the story lines she's spent six novels spooling out. It's cathartic to some degree, but even then she doesn't make anything simple. Life is tough. Survivors do what the can. And sometimes the story doesn't really have a blissful ending. This is not a fairy tale.

*** Spoilers for Lizzy Gardner Series***

I've read this series from start to finish. Sadly, for me, I didn't realize it was the end. Maybe it was just me that was out of the loop and now that I know the ending I feel there was such a character jump in the last two books. Character growth is one thing, but totally changing everything so abruptly. Honestly, I'm not sure why Jared was killed off. The ending could have been the same with the family being together. Maybe there was something I missed, but I just don't see the point to it. That's my opinion on the series conclusion.

Evil Never Dies. Everything seemed tied up too quickly. It was a quick read and I guess some of the characters endings were left open. I get that the author is done with the series and needed to end it and I guess I know where everyone stands. Being the end of the series. The final book. I guess I wanted more out of each of our main characters. I wanted a satisfying conclusion for all of them.

Now, if you've stuck with me this far you might think that I didn't like the series. Quite the opposite actually. This is one of my favorite character series. I feel like I know each of the characters. I'm invested in their future and their growth. I'm sorry to see it end. Just enough suspense, romance, and violence spread throughout. You know what happening without be told in graphic detail what's happening and that's a gift. A sign of a very talented writer.

If you haven't read this series, you should read it. You might feel a little let down by the end, but overall its a good read.

I have truly enjoyed this author's books, and this series was certainly no exception. There were a lot of highs and lows, emotional turmoil, losses, grief, drama, angst, mystery, suspense, wicked and twisted criminals, but most importantly, these strangers have become a family of choice.
Each story was intense, complex, unique, definitely intriguing with many unexpected twists throughout, and always leaving you guessing until the very end. I would really love to see more stories about these characters.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

I’ve loved this whole series but hated that she let Jared die and now Evil Never Dies has turned dark and negative. A woman who beat cancer gets to die. I think there are better directions Lizzy can take except to the dark side. I really dislike serial killer details as in Evil Never Dies. I’d rather read about catching them and the precess rather than the horrible details of how he plans and salivates about his kills. I tend to skip over those parts. I gave the other books a 5 star but not this one. I want Lizzy to continue to be the good person she is. S Hoisington

5.0 out of 5 stars A fitting finale to this series

This is the 6th and last book ( ☹ ) in the Lizzy Gardner series. I think the author has done the right thing in ending the series here, even though I am a bit disappointed. Once again Lizzy and her team, Hayley, Kitally and Jessica are trying to deal with rapists and child abusers who manage to evade justice. However, they reach a point where they start to question what they are doing and if they have overstepped the line and will they meet their match?
This has been a gritty series, but there are also some other good series by this author waiting to be read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Erfolgreicher Abschluß dieser Serie

OK so I guess it’s good in a way that this is the (planed) last book in the series. TRR runs the risk of them becoming “Too Samey”. Nevertheless thoroughly enjoyed the book and all the usual characters.
